Sales of Home Appliances to Rural Areas Reached 6.97 million units in February
Sales of home appliances to rural areas in China (excluding sales in provinces of Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, and Qingdao City) reached 6.97 million units in February 2012, hitting 18.2 billion yuan, up by 6.4% and 19.1% respectively. A total of 230 million units of home appliances were sold to rural areas by the end of February 2012, with sales values hitting 537.85 billion yuan, and total subsidy of 62.62 billion yuan.
By province, the top three in sales value were Anhui, Hebei and Jiangsu, accounting for one third of the total in the country. By commodity, sales of color TV sets, refrigerators, water heaters and washing machines exceeded 2 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 80% of the total sales. By enterprise, Haier, Hisense and Midea ranked top three in sales as 2.5 billion yuan, 1.63 billion yuan and 1.3 billion yuan respectively, totally accounting for 30% of the national sales.
