Marking the first anniversary of the operation of the China-Laos Railway, CCCME Executive Vice President and Director of CCCME Expert Committee, Zheng Chao led a working team to visit Luang Prabang and Vientiane, Laos from December 8th to 11th. In order to make concrete contribution to the consensuses reached by President Xi Jinping and Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, the trip aimed to promote economic and trade exchanges between China and Laos, and shared more details on the 2023 Conference on International Industry Cooperation (Singapore) and China Machinery and Electronic Products Brand Exhibition.

On the sidelines of the visit, Executive Vice President Zheng and his delegation called on Li Zhigong, Chinese consul general in Luang Prabang, and Xiang Fangqiang, charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, to have in-depth communication on matters including the bilateral economic and trade cooperation, the establishment of a civil platform for more exchanges between Chinese and Laotian enterprises, and the construction of new economic zones.
