On the morning of August 4, 2016, CCCME Vice President SHI Yonghong met with Mr. Baron Lobstein, External Unit Chief of the Economic Section, Embassy of the United States of America.

Vice President SHI introduced CCCME briefly to Mr. Lobstein, focusing on the projects of organizing Chinese enterprises to participate in infrastructure upgrading and clean energy cooperation in the States in recent years. Mr. Lobstein introduced the function of the Economic Section of the Embassy. He agreed with the view of Vice President SHI and believed that strengthening cooperation between China and the United States in two areas of infrastructure and clean energy is in line with the consensus of the heads of two countries and should be the focus of future cooperation.

The two sides had in-depth exchanges on FTA negotiations, security review of foreign investments and promoting bilateral/multilateral cooperation and other relevant issues. Both sides agreed to strengthen regular communication and cooperation to promote sustained and healthy development of Sino-US economic and trade relations.
