On July 13 2016, under the framework of the 3^rd China-Russia Expo, CCCME hosted the Forum on China-Russia Machinery Manufacturing and Innovation Cooperation in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The forum was sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China, Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and organized by CCCME and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. Under the theme of machinery manufacturing and innovation cooperation, the forum is targeted at boosting China-Russia Cooperation and deeply matching the One Belt, One Road Initiative with Eurasian Economic Union. More than 120 representatives from governments, companies, financial institutions and research institutes attended the forum, which was co-chaired by CRCCME Chinese Vice President Shi Yonghong and Russian Vice President Kolesnikov V. and. Vice President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Kurochkin D. attended and addressed the forum.

Prior to the forum, officials of CCCME and CCIRF together with business leaders participated in the meeting of exchange attended by Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.

It was the first time the China-Russia Expo was held in Russia, and it was previously held in Harbin twice since 2014. Now, the expo has been serving as a major platform for practical cooperation and all-round exchanges of China and Russia in such key areas as politics, economy, trade, science & technology, people-to-people and culture exchanges.
