Automobile sector should be restructured, made more effective and its research and development capabilities need strengthening, according to a spokesman at Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Xiao Chunquan told a news conference on Tuesday that China still needs to work with foreign car manufacturers to improve industrial structure, reported People.com.cn.
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other related departments will revise the automobile industry policies to boost sustainable development of the sector.
China remains the largest vehicle manufacturer and buyer in the world, with both car production and sales hitting 21 million units in 2013, said Xiao.
