Sales of home appliances to rural areas in China (excluding sales in provinces of Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, and Qingdao City) reached 23.34 million units in first four months of 2012, hitting 61.68 billion yuan, up by 16.4% and 6.7% respectively. In April, sales of home appliances to rural areas reached 5.35 million units, hitting 14.32 billion yuan, up by 135.1% and 141.9% respectively. A total of 241 million units of home appliances were sold to rural areas by the end of April 2012, with sales values hitting 567.49 billion yuan, and total subsidy of 66.19 billion yuan.



By province, the top three in sales value were Hebei, Anhui and Jiangsu, accounting for one third of the total in the country. By commodity, sales of color TV sets and refrigeratorss exceeded 10 billion yuan respectively, accounting for 56% of the total sales. By enterprise, Haier, Hisense and Changhong ranked top three in sales as 7.768 billion yuan, 5.296 billion yuan and 4.248 billion yuan respectively, totally accounting for 28.1% of the national sales.
