A total of 220 million units of home appliances were sold to rural areas by the end of January 2012, with sales values hitting 519.66 billion Yuan, and total subsidy of 60.59 billion Yuan.
By province, the top three in sales value were Hebei, Anhui and Jiangsu, accounting for 33.2% of the total in the country. By enterprise, major enterprises of home appliances including Haier, Hisense and Midea saw a sales decline of over 30% due to expiration of policies promoting sales of home appliances to rural areas in Shandong, Henan, Sichuan and Qingdao.
