The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection is proposing to expand the product scope of automobile light alloy disc wheels to be subject to mandatory inspection to cover those with diameters more than 18 inches. A recent survey indicated that 50% of motor vehicles were with wheels more than 18 inches in diameter. With a view to ensuring the same level of protection of consumers, the scope of wheels subject to mandatory inspection will be revised to apply to those with diameters not more than 26 inches. Two alternative conformity assessment procedures are made available for the choice of applicants, i.e. Registration of Product Certification or Type-Approved Batch Inspection.（技术服务中心）
